International employees

Fraunhofer ICT is an internationally active research institution with employees from over twenty different countries. Researchers from abroad are welcome to apply for any of our job vacancies or training / work experience placements.

Fraunhofer ICT is also interested in hosting researchers who have received a fellowship from a public or private funding organization, for example:

• Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions
  
• Alexander von Humboldt fellowship
  
• DAAD fellowship

Fraunhofer ICT is happy to maintain contact and develop collaborations with former employees who have moved to another country.

The institute has recently obtained funding from the initiative “Researcher-Alumni Strategies for Newcomers”, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). In a specially developed “Program for the Mentoring and Training of International Personnel as Institute Ambassadors” (ICT-MANTRA), international employees currently at the institute are offered:

• assistance with all the administrative aspects of moving to Germany and starting work at our institute
• special training units on the Fraunhofer model and on intercultural teamwork
• one-to-one discussions with funding experts to identify potential collaborations with institutions in their home country
• funding for project planning and mutual visits
