Fraunhofer Center for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes CBP

The Fraunhofer Center for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes CBP in Leuna aims to bridge the gap between the laboratory and industrial implementation. Coordinated by the Fraunhofer ICT and IGB, it enables processes for the use of renewable resources to be developed and up-scaled to industrial level.

Key fields of research

In the context of collaborative projects with partners from industry, universities and research institutions, the following research areas will be covered:

  • Organosolv fractionation of lignocelluloses
  • Manufacture of biobased alcohols and olefins from these alcohols
